Courses in teaching

  1. Diploma in Early Childhood Education (D.E.C.Ed.) – Duration 2 years
    Eligibility: Candidates with atleast 50 % marks in 10+2 standard are eligible for admission. There will be relaxation of 5 % in case of ST/SC/OBC.
    Job opportunities after doing DECEd: A person passing Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) teaches pre-primary or pre-school or Nursery including Class 1 and 2 of the primary education. These posts are advertised by various State Governments as well as by Private Public Schools, from time to time. For the jobs in government schools, selection is made on the basis on written competitive examination followed by interview.
  2. Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EI..Ed)/ Elementary Teacher Education Programme- Duration 2 years
    Eligibility: (a) Candidates with at least 50% marks in the secondary education (b) Reservation for ST/SC/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central Government/ State Government, whichever is applicable.
    Job opportunities after doing DEIEd, BTC, TTC or Diploma in Education: Those passing above are eligible for teaching posts to teach Class I to Class VII/VIII. The posts are advertised by government and private public schools, from time to time. For the jobs in government schools, selection is made on the basis on written competitive examination followed by interview.
  3. Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.) degree- Duration 4 years full time (including an internship of a minimum of 16 working weeks in the fourth/ final year of study)
    Eligibility: (a) Minimum qualification for admission to the B.EI.Ed. shall be a pass in 10+2 senior secondary examination or other examination recognized as equivalent thereto with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (b) Complete the age of seventeen years on or before the commencement of admission as per University Calendar.
    Job opportunities after doing Bachelor of Elementary Education: Those passing D.EI.Ed, BC, TTC, Diploma in Education are eligible for teaching posts to teach class I to VIII. These posts are advertised by government and private public schools, from time to time. For the jobs in government schools, selection is made on the basis on written competitive examination followed by interview.
  4. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree
    The bachelor of education program generally knows B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (Classes VI-VIII), secondary (Classes IX-  X) and senior secondary (Classes XI-XII) levels.
    Eligibility: (a) Candidates with atleast 50 % marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/ or in the Master’s Degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission in the programme (b) The reservation in seats and relaxation in qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the rules of the concerned government.
    Job opportunities after doing B.Ed.: Those passing B.Ed. are eligible to compete jobs in upper primary, middle level i.e. classes VI to VIII, secondary and senior secondary schools run by various government authorities and private educational establishments.
